The rules, aren’t arbitrary. They are a way to help visual artists label the familiar patterns that the human eye generally finds appealing. But consciously constructing an image based on these rules is putting the subject in a secondary role. The patterns are innately recognized; you know it’s right, when you see it. You just take the picture that looks right. You just walk the way that feels like walking.
