Here’s my Minolta XG 7. These cameras were produced in 1977. When I was a kid, I worked all summer in order to buy my first SLR and it was one of these. It is an aperture-priority camera with unmetered manual override, which is kind of strange. The lens is my fastest at f/1.4. Best of all, it uses film. I took my first photo of Dedra (in high-school) with this camera. I took my first front page newspaper photo with this camera, during a hurricane.

Julia: Because, man, digital sucks balls and a half. On a serious note though, digital just doesn’t capture the same curves. It doesn’t use natural light in the same way. Sure, digital is great, but I honestly think it’s great for making things look fake.
